Thanks Den. He's in A&E now and we're just waiting to hear what's going to be happening when whatever tests are needed have been done. He's looking very frail but is a tough old boot...

I have a feeling my old man is nearing crunch time now. He was given months to live back in October and has been gradually getting weaker, although not suffering any pain. Last night he told us he's been peeing blood for a few days so it's off to hospital this morning for tests. I'm hoping it's just a urinary tract infection but part of me is thinking the cancer has spread and he might not be coming home. Worrying times...

It's never easy when a parent gets older it is very much role reversal for us "children" I worry about my Mum all the time as she is so secretive just last week when I was cleaning her house I found a load of medication hidden under her bed and here was all of us thinking she was taking her meds. The trouble with my Mum is she is hard work I mean that in a nice way although it is very frustrating at times, whereas my Dad not a problem but then again he faces stuff head on instead of head in the sand.
Let's hope it's not the latter Osem fingers crossed it's a urinary tract infection. Hugs to you and your family take care.

Thanks everybody for your kind regards and PM's. It's much appreciated.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Well the old man's being kept in for a couple of days at least. They don't think it's an infection but it could be anyone of a number of things not necessarily with his cancer. He's got a catheter and is being well and truly flushed through, plus having a blood transfusion as he's anaemic. The doctors have asked whether, given his ongoing situation, he wants them to bother doing lots of quite unpleasant tests or just treat/ameliorate his symptoms and see how it goes. I feel he'll opt for the latter option.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
With Dad still in hospital I popped round to see my mum earlier and found her sitting in the chair with her trousers and underwear around her ankles. She couldn't remember how she got from the toilet to the lounge...

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Been of work ill since Tuesday, and when I go back on Monday, I have to do a Return To Work interview.
Having to phone in every 2nd day before 10am was a PITA, as on Monday and Tuesday I woke up at 4/5pm, and they may even phone you up at home.
I have NEVER worked for a company that treats you like this.

They seem to be not a very understanding company Hom3r, I hope you a feeling better and not going back to work to soon due to work pressure. I must admit when I took ill my work was fantastic even kept my job open for myself for 12 months then when I could not go back the girl who had taken over my duties on a temporary basis got the job.

Thanks, they ain't an employer of choice.
Take Thursday.
My Brother In-Laws company got in TVs and had a BBQ for the England game, in company time no holiday to use or hours to make up.
My company's option "You've got holidays use them"
I have been compiling a reasons why I left list (this is my list I would give if I won enough money to walk) it has 11 reasons.
