As was the original document, the Sky press release. The pop-up channel, Sky Ocean Rescue HD, has now launched on channel 244 on VM, the EPG listing programmes from 5 PM Wednesday until 10 PM Sunday.

The same goes for ITV as long as there is no legislation getting in the way of this.

ITV and RTE are both overplaying their hand as you say so l think it is just a matter of time before a reasonable agreement is struck by all.

I know, MB, but VM could substitute those channels with something else if viewer numbers are sufficiently high to justify this.
In the meantime, RTE would have to survive with rather less money. I don't think RTE would take such a risk, and therefore Virgin and Sky can afford to play hardball.

If ITV play hardball we feel one of the following may happen.
-Virgin Media UK launch TV3, B3 and 3e on the network.
-Virgin Media takeover ITV.

In which case, Virgin would simply lay off itself and not apply the charge, so there would be no need to provide those extra channels!

Will never happen as that would involve creating content which VM won't do.

I wouldn't rule it out, though. I think a change of mind may have taken place. Shifting sands, old chap...

That's because they couldn't afford to deny Sky access to BT Sports!
