Can you not plug in your Firestick using your TV USB? Or maybe yours isn't a smart TV?

My V6 installation went without issue. Only (very) minor annoyance is that the USB port on the back of the V6 does not even have power to it which is a shame because I used to use my old Tivo to charge my PS4 joypad.

Thanks for the reply Daz.
Push-in coax...interesting.
Joypad? We had these back in the 80s/90s, aren't they called controllers now lol

Yep my self install pack came with push in connectors, was slightly strange at first but makes the whole thing a lot easier.

My wife has won our battle. She is having the V6 installed next Friday. Is the V6 worth it.
And we can keep our old Tivo box as there is plenty of stuff on it

It's plugged into an amp and the TiVo USB is the most convenient power supply for it. Shame the V6 USB is completely disabled but I'm gaining a plug socket because I'm ditching my IR sender/receiver due to V6 remote being RF.

Denphone.
That we will be downgraded to the basic package. That could change soon. As again my job is on the line - again.

Re: Virgin Media V6 - Powered by TiVo(new STB)
I'm thinking of ordering a V6 box and Superhub 3
Can the V6 box use the existing coax cable that runs to my
existing Tivo box or do I have to use either a Ethernet cable
or Wireless
Anyone had problems with the Superhubs overheating being on so long?

You still need the co-ax connection (direct TV channels) as well as Ethernet or Wi-Fi.(On-demand, EPG etc)
I only have an SH1 but it's on 24-7. Stays pretty cool.

Re: Virgin Media V6 - Powered by TiVo(new STB)
I have an SH2 and a ASUS router and they are on 24-7 . The router is warm but the SH is cool. They are meant to stay on 24-7.

Re: Virgin Media V6 - Powered by TiVo(new STB)
So I am still impressed with the V6's... when they work. The past week they have needed rebooting about 10 times before On Demand works/they decide to wake up. I spoke to VM on the phone who said there was no issue. I even asked whether any software updates were on the way to fix any bugs and they said there were no bugs...
Anyone know if any updates are coming soon?

Mmm. Let me know when they've sorted the bugs out and enabled the scart and I might consider 'upgrading'.
