You have to wonder if it's in spite of Wayne rather than because of him and how good these young players actually are, time will tell next season on how many get regular first team football.

Re: Football Season 2015/2016
He is Englands all time record goal scorer, he is fully fit, he has been playing very well in a deeper roll in the past few months.
He has made several crucial tackles in his own area ( although he could have conceded a pen yesterday).
He headed a goal bound ball away from goal in the FA Cup semi final, and he single handedly [sp] beat half the Palace side to set up United's equaliser yesterday.
England are hardly blessed with top quality midfield players, Alli is brilliant but still has a suspect temperament that the top international players will already be well aware of.
And if Jordan Henderson who is a million miles from international class IMHO makes the squad as a midfielder then god help us.

Square pegs in round holes, will we ever learn about trying to shoehorn players into the team. If woy or sven were in charge in 66 we'd still be waiting for a world cup as they'd have gone with greavesie instead of sir Geoff

Re: Football Season 2015/2016
There are a few players who are capable of switching roles in later life. Bobby Charlton for one started out as an old fashioned number 9 but later in his career morphed into a world class midfielder. It can be done and as I have already said we are not over burdened with top class midfield players.

Even with him England have no chance of winning the forthcoming European Championships as we can defend for toffee and have trouble keeping possession.

Yep Wilshire is certainly over-rated that's for sure as like Sterling he has not progressed at all from the initial breakthrough first season.

Re: Football Season 2015/2016
I think that fans who think that Rooney, should be in the Euro Squad, must be stupid.
Rooney has a hot head and regularly loses his head. Even the commentator said on the Cup Final 'Rooney has to be careful now' Rooney, should be retired from Internationals.
I have said all along we need Fresh blood in the new England squad.
We have that now in the present set up. Good football, and it was refreshing to watch.

Maybe after the Euro's Hodgson, will walk. He should have done the honest thing and resigned after our dismal World Cup.

Re: Football Season 2015/2016
Why Should he walk away yes we didn't have a good world cup but Hodgson has one of the best win percentages in competitive matches 73% in all matches 60% so he isn't that bad

Re: Football Season 2015/2016
It's not really that hard to have a high win percentage in International football, regardless of that its actual competitions that count.
You can't sack Hodgson though nor can you blame him, there's no manager left that would take up the England job, its a set up to fail. We don't have a single player in the team that is the greatest in the world at their position or even close. We have no Ronaldo, Messi, Muller, Hummels and so on. I don't see anything close to those world class players on the horizon. Even when we get players in a rich vein of form its near enough massive odds you'll actually see them perform well in international tournament's. Don't be shocked if Kane and Vardy walk away with nothing between them. Jack Wilshere is done, another overhyped player hampered by injuries that simply can't and won't deliver. They're setting up Barkley for that same thing.
