Re: Football Season 2015/2016
You must have been watching a different game Arthur, it was Fabregas who was stamped on and NINE Spurs players got booked, an all time high (or low) in the Premiership and four from Chelsea.

Re: Football Season 2015/2016
You have pointed me correctly.
But Fabregas, is being blamed for inciting the trouble. From what l have heard. And the FA is looking into several videos of the game.
So l can see players from BOTH sides, being banned for the rest of the season. And the start of next season.
I find it extremely sad, that footballers behave in such an appalling manner.
I think personally that a more stronger ref, such as Mike Dean should have taken this game.
I feel that Clattenburg, should have been stronger from the start.
I feel that there could have been troubkle at the end of the game, although, not reported.
I have been to Stamford Bridge for Spurs games. And there is only One railway station - which is Fulham Broadway.
I remember when l went there, there are blocks of flats by the station, and Chelsea fans were waiting for Spurs fans to come out. Before it kicked off

And what about Dembele's gouging of a Chelsea players eye.

Sadly missed out in the ballot, 'apparently' even some people who had the full ten home cup game attendance record missed out in the first ballot. A second one being held next week for returns and cancellations but as I only went to nine cup games I have virtually no chance.
The really annoying thing is the only game I missed was the Capital One game against Ipswich. That was due to travelling all the way to Cornwall for my nephews wedding, what really bugs me is that they split up five months later.

Secondly for those Spurs haters on this forum. I have watched Spurs all my life, and have blue and white blood in my viens.
But, l was totally shocked by the performance of Chelsea players lasy night.
All the off the ball fouls, Costa should have been sent off for the ugly tackles he was making. Spurs should have had a penalty, for the way he had his arms round each Spurs player, in every corner.
Ivanovic was his usual cruel self and going in with nasty tackles. And then we have TWO talking points. Lamela and Costa, where Lamela ' stamped' om Costa.
Costa gets up and runs to the linesman, showing his wrist in the face of the Linesman.
Throughout the game, there were ugly tackles. And Clattenberg, and his officials failed to get a grip on the game. And to show authority .
Chelsea went out of the way, as usual. When they are losing. They go on the cheating game. And this has gone on over the season.
Spurs players where to blame in reacting.
After the final whistle, Costa and Vorm were invloind in something RIGHT UNDER THE NOSES OF OFFICIALS.
If you look SEVEN Spurs got booked. Only TWO from Chelsea.
And the FA will look at Cost BITING a Spurs player.
This was a chaotic derby, Each during the week, we had Chelsea players saying we HATE Spurs, even during the game there were chants of WE HATE TOTTENHAM from the Chelsea fans.
Clattenburg, could have ordered the players concerned in the fighting to separate and RED CARDED them.
As even though they are off the field of play, the referee is still in charge of the players. Until the reach the changing room
A very vicious game.
I think that IF Spurs do finish above Arsenal, this could be another factor why the Arsenal fans want Wenger out. I think that finishing below Spurs, this is unthinkable in North London

You're a dead cert for the Comedy writers of the year award. The players didn't say they hated spurs, they said they didn't want them to win. And you seem to have omitted Eric Dier and Dembele from your criticism of players. Wonder why?

What irritates me is that a substantial amount of tickets go to people who don't even support the two clubs in the FA cup final thus depriving some supporters of these clubs any chance of ever going to Wembley.

Re: Football Season 2015/2016
All these polls with 90% plus saying that Leicester have achieved the greatest feat ever in English football is way off the mark in my mind.
Nottingham Forest, without the millions that Leicester have had won the 1st division in the 1st season after winning promotion to that division and then won two European Cups and European Super Cup.
A similar sized, small city club with no super stars just like Leicester but IMHO a far superior achievement.

Re: Football Season 2015/2016
No l disagree with you as football was a different game money wise then compared to now as there are many mega cash rich clubs just in the PS alone now where generally most of the big players go to thus Leicester have had to build a squad generally on a shoestring to try to compete against the many mega rich giants which in Nottingham Forest days were not there in the depth as they are now and although Nottingham Forests achievements are very very considerable they are not on the scale of Leicester winning the Premiership in my humble opinion.

I agree with you. They are very similar stories though and it'd be great to think of them emulating forest in the Champions league next season to

Re: Football Season 2015/2016
Yes as l say Forest achievements were certainly unforgettable and how Cloughie was not England manager well l think we all know the answer to that but yes it would be wonderful to see Leicester progress in the Champions League next season..

Re: Football Season 2015/2016
Well it is certainly true that the passage of time diminishes ones achievements, especially for those that were not even born at the time.
As I said Forest won the 1st division at the very first attempt after promotion, not after two seasons in the top flight. A total of 42 games and only 2 points for a win but they still finished 7 points clear.
There obviously wasn't the same money around then but the opposition was equally strong, Liverpool still in their prime, Everton, Man City, Arsenal all top class teams.
To then go on and win 2 European Cups is far and away superior to what Leicester have done.
Leicester have played very well this season BUT.............
1.They ducked out of both domestic cups at a very early stage.
2.They have been very lucky to have hardly any injuries at all compared to several of the 'big' teams.
3.All of the 'big' teams have been heavily involved in domestic and/or European cup competitions.
4.And the biggest bonus of all for Leicester and something that may never happen again for a very long time, every single one of the 'big' teams had a very inconsistent season, all together and at the same time.
The dice fell very nicely for Leicester and I don't begrudge them their success but I still do not think it ranks with a league title at the first attempt followed by two European Cups with what was on paper a very ordinary team.

Yes its nice to be in the final but alas each club will only get about 10.000 tickets each for the final which is rather pathetic in my opinion.

The thing is , that sort of 'gegenpressing' is so high intensity that teams cannot sustain it week in week out in the Premiership without risk of stress injuries.
