Certainly made my eyes water when Rooney stamped on his gonads.

Actually it was Ricardo Carvalho who was the victim, plus it was accidental.
Anyway......
As you say, Arsenal are the next club primed be taken over.
The spokesman for Wenger's main sponser "specsavers" said....
no change there then
Seriously though, Murdoch is acheiving his main aim here, attracting *big money men* into his emporium.
It will be interesting to see what happens in the future, hopefully not to the detriment or extinction (due to unforseen tax liabilities or whatever) of the clubs.
As a fan of football I find all this foreign takeover business quite worrying.
As I see it, Some clubs will benefit, some will fall by the wayside.

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
yeah it was a dive but Ronaldo has done some just as bad so I don't think we should be getting on our high horse here.
they all do it and i don't think anyone at FIFA, UEFA or The FA even wants to stop it
during the Arsenal game Heskey could have used his strength to stay on his feet and put the ball in the net but he chose to fall over with the contact.. yes there was contact and 9 times out of 10 that would be a pen but he could have stayed up
Henry fell over.. dived call it what you will but if the ref had given a pen he wouldn't have said to the ref "actually i just fell over" he would have taken it and prob scored
i know this my shock some of you but the other day my gf actually touched my face.. i didn't roll over on the floor screaming in pain either
in fact has anyone ever seen in public or at a hospital an injured person rolling backwards and forwards on the floor in pain ?
gazzae what you think of the game on Sat ? was there too and thought the performance was terrible.. we couldn't even string a pass together and didn't even have a ball winner in midfield.. very poor display.. as they said after all the England games at the WC "we won ugly"

I saw Lee Dixon on MotD2 say that he was 'entitled' to go over, that is just the sort of attitude that allows this crap to go on, I hate divers, them and agents will ruin this sport if we aren't careful

It wasn't the best game, I thought that Scholes looked isolated at times in midfield and he gave the ball away a few times. Kuszczak didn't have much to do but it was a great save in the first half. Park impressed me at times as well. Didn't think Saha had the greatest game, I would have taken him off for Larsson rather than Giggs. Thought Rooney was great, that chance in the first have, the pass to Saha in the second and the way he set up Fletcher's goal.
Where were you sitting? We were in the North East Quadrant.

was in the South Stand just behind where they come out the tunnel... not great seats as when the ball was at the far end in the first half you couldn't really see the play very well or if they were on the 18 yard line or not.. £37 which i don't think was great value for money.. when I go and see Palace they have A and B games so when you see a lower side and they don't field the top players you pay less for a ticket.. might send them a mail to see what they say as think my seats were overpriced
though Scholes and Fletcher were v poor no one took control of the midfield and both gave it away.. thought park did very little but i'm not a fan of his .. in the second half he was on his own on the left wing the whole game with no one on him and the ball never got to him once.. don't think he would have done much but would have been nice to get the ball to the bloke in space

Re: Football Talk 2006/2007 Season
more hypocrisy from prem players and managers .. Henry and Wenger have both had a go about Kirkland and time wasting but i can't see any comments from any of them saying they are unhappy with Lehman for doing the same thing

Kirkland was doing it in the first half though, I don't condone any form of unsportsmanship, but doing it in the first half is taking the pish out of fans imo

true but then as soon as Arsenal took the lead Lehman did it.. two wrongs don't make a right and Wenger could have said Lehman did the same thing and apologised for that but he didn't
it's the same with diving.. and Man U have done this season and get away with it then complain if it happens to us
take the game on Sat Rio got injured but we played then when the move broke down and Charlton got the ball we made them kick it out to Rio could get treatment.. that is sporting but i've seen loads of home teams do the same too

This season the only time i can remember Ronaldo diving was against Spurs and none have been as bad as that Henry one, that was a joke and i can't believe he wasn't booked.

That's about the price i pay when i go, i find that the best places to sit are in the East or West stand tier two, i prefer not to sit in tier one as the view and atmosphere is generally not as good. Just to let you know the prices at United are less than at Arsenal and Chelsea.

When Henry held the ball at Kirklands face after the equaliser i would have smacked him one, everyone thinks he's 'Mr nice guy' but he's not, he complains with every decision, dives and what he did to Kirkland was just stupid and the ref was right to book him for it.
