Re: Science Fiction, Fantasy, and other TV Snippets
Yeah it is a bit of a slap in the face really when you have done them a favour and something which is pretty much unheard of and renewed it for 2 seasons.

Luke Perry passed away today. I know he was famous for quite a few roles such as Beverly Hills 90201 but the first time I saw him was in Jeremiah and that is what I remember him for even though I have seen him in a few minor roles since.

The Second Age covers a vast time period of over 3,400 years, and it was during this time the Ring of Power was created. The Second Age ended with the defeat of Sauron's army by an alliance of Men and Elves.

What’s going on with Wynonna Earp? According to The Hollywood Reporter, funding is not available for a fourth season of the Syfy TV show despite a renewal and plans for a fifth season.
Although Syfy has already renewed Wynonna Earp, it’s unclear if the series will ever produce a fourth season. According to THR, the show’s producer, IDW Entertainment, does not have enough funding to justify another season let alone two more seasons of Wynonna Earp.
How strange, I don't know how it all works but if the production company didn't have enough money to make another season you would think it would just close down. I don't understand how a company can exist on paper but not make anything. Syfy obviously thinks it is worth it financially so surely they could lend them the money knowing they'll get it back?

Just watching "Love, Death, & Robots" on Netflix - a series of short (10-20 minutes each) animations (of varying styles) of short stories by some of my favourite SF writers (Scalzi, Hamilton, Morgan, Reynolds, Kloos, amongst others).

Amazon Prime Video UK has secured the streaming rights to all four seasons of Farscape and the two-part follow up mini-series Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars from The Jim Henson Company.

I think they’re waking up to the fact that a small number of headline grabbing original commissions doesn’t entitle them to be seen as equals with Netflix. When you go on Netflix everything you see is free to view. When you go on Amazon Prime the opening view looks great until you realise that most of it costs extra. Browsing for ‘included with Prime’ can become a bit of a chore and when you get to it, there isn’t nearly as much there.
But with BSG, Agents of SHIELD, Lost and now Farscape (and, slightly off topic, Glee, which I’m quite partial to) they’re beginning to take the whole box set thing seriously. All we need now is an equally serious approach to original commissions.
