The smart meter doesn't contain that dat. Just your usage. It's useless to anyone.
Your name and address are stored with your bank too. Are you concerned about them having that as well as what you spend??
Seriously!!

You have a choice of how often it transmits information.

Re: Smart Meter, Yae or Nae?
Our electricity one has never worked. The home display packed up within hours.
The main unit has A and B buttons and an LCD display. I can eventually find the "Imported KWH value" to send in as the remote reporting has never worked. (Signal reported as -127db) But it's strange: Every bit of kit I have you can find the documentation, circuits etc on the net but for this meter?
Not a trace, I can find the Chinese OEM outline data, the FCC certification, the CE certification but a description of the buttons and menus? Nothing!
Why is this such a secret? EDF should be advising the CIA/KGB etc on secrecy.
OVO want us to have a smart gas meter. Not a chance.

Time to get yourself that tin foil hat, the nonsense you seem to be spouting is almost amusing to watch.
Aside from the fact the data is for your house (not you) - what personal habits does it 'encode' ?
It has no knowledge of what you are doing, only the amount of electricity or gas you are using, your porn habbit is safe.
"Its stored in a database" ? Seriously ?
Clearly this comes as a shock, but traditional meter readings are stored in the same database.
They also track useage, just over longer time intevals, thats kinda the whole purpose of meters.

Re: Smart Meter, Yae or Nae?
If you gave me the data I could easily make a list of addresses of people rich enough to own electric cars and who are out of the house between 9am and 5pm.

Re: Smart Meter, Yae or Nae?
I could do that simply by watching them, far easier.
If I gave you all their bank details you could steal money from them.
If the sun were bigger we would all burn up, what exactly is your point ?

You can't watch millions of people at once to pick out the best ones . But I'm not arguing any more, if you don't see the point now you won't.

How can you detect electric cars, yes i have a EV but i also use a hell of a lot of electric including the following
1 x electric shower that draws 11Kw that's more than the 7 Kw my charger uses. An electric oven that at full usage with both ovens going draws 6.2 kw. 2 x high spec gaming pc and one of them draws 1 kw at full rate. 1 x washing machine 1 x dryer. To give you an idea of electric usage my electric bill can hit over £300 a month however most of that is not the EV as my average cost per day in electric from home to work and back is £2.80
Last thing i have friends with EV who would not say they are rich, there cars like mine are on lease via salary sacrifice.
Finally one of the reasons the Government are looking at road charging is because they admit they cannot work out a way to tax people for charging there car at home so maybe you could give them some advice ?
I am not rich by any measure, i just work hard for my money
Your phone spies on you, if you use windows or mac it spies on you ( that's why i use Linux), if you have a points card it spies on you. If you drive a car the anpr system spies on you. Your ISP knows a lot of what you do and when you do it, I could go on but i think you get the drift
Last point a training video for you is below.

Nor can you get the data from "millions of people at once".
You are very wise to bow out now before you make a bigger fool of yourself than you already are.

Yes you can, do you have any idea how data security works? if octopus energy has a data breach that is 7.7 million households.

Re: Smart Meter, Yae or Nae?
A much better idea than you apparently.
Aside from "if" yet again, it also [again] has nothing to do with actual smart meters.
Thats point has already been covered several times now, but still you cling to it. Cracking.
Please do keep going, your paranoia is really starting to show now, I cant wait for the next theory.
