No network since Router change
Im having major issues getting my network back online following a router change. I had an Asus RT-AC87u that died 2 days ago, no power or anything so i bought a netgear nighthawk x6 that was on sale for £149.
Since this im unable to setup network places in my computer to access folders on my synology DS215j but i know its working as its being found via the synology assistant i just cant setup the network places.
Can someone point out if ive missed something as ive gone over settings again and again and i cant find the issue.
Thanks

Re: No network since Router change
Can you access the router via a PC, mobile etc?
192.186.1.1 should access the router interface.

Ive managed to sort it via help from the synology forums.
Heres the link to the post i used, as soon as i installed what is stated on the first post i was able to map all my drives once again.

Re: No network since Router change
SMB1 is mostly used as a fallback as we have SMB2 and 3 now which are more secure and have better security features.
Microsoft decided to remove SMB1 rather than keep updating it after the Wannacry/EternalBlue ransomware/exploit issues which abused it. This broke networking in quite a few products and setups, including Synology file sharing.
Re-enabling SMB1 is a workaround but the ideal situation is the issue forcing Synology and others to make their product work fine without it.

Re: No network since Router change
You need to turn off SMBv1 on all devices. It's a security risk, and can lead to viruses spreading from machine to machine on your network, it's a common trick used in many recent ransomware attacks e.g. NotPetya
