2014 Ryder Cup
No thread on this, and it seems there are a few golf fans on here so thought a thread about the Ryder Cup would be in order.
As it stands, not very impressed with the team representing Europe, and I have heard rumours that McGinley will be doing a Faldo and not picking anyone he doesn't like. I believe that Poulter will be a massive addition to the team, and without him I think the Americans will win it.
Team as it stands today:
Rory McIlroy, Northern Ireland
Victor Dubuisson, France
Jamie Donaldson, Wales
Henrik Stenson, Sweden
Sergio Garcia, Spain
Justin Rose, England
Martin Kaymer, Germany
Thomas Bjorn, Denmark
Luke Donald, England
And obviously, that leaves the 3 wildcard picks from the Captain.

Re: 2014 Ryder Cup
l remember the last Ryder Cup where we were on holiday with our family up the line and we needed a good last day to turn it around and l kept checking my phone every 5 minutes and in the end the miracle happened.

Re: 2014 Ryder Cup
I know. You know my feelings about Germany, but even I was willing Kaymer on to do well.

Re: 2014 Ryder Cup
So a 5-3 lead for Europe after Day 1. But Garcia/McIlroy pairing just doesn't work.

Personally my view is that we will still retain the Ryder Cup but he does need to be more inspired on one or two of his pairings today.

Re: 2014 Ryder Cup
It does den, but until the remaing 4.5 points are in the bag I will not be able to relax. Dubisson has actually been a good player, and I was against him being in the team. Shame Poulter has not had such a good tournament this time.

Re: 2014 Ryder Cup
l cannot say that l have been impressed by Sky Sports coverage of this event though as some of their commentator's are amateurish to say the least and not showing the last shot in the tournament was poor to say the least and the lead presenter gets on my nerve as well..

Re: 2014 Ryder Cup
Yes, the Ryder Cup coverage was bad but I find that their general coverage of the European Tour is good. They cannot be blamed for American coverage as they only take the footage of an American network.
I thought Darren Clarke was good, and Monty was good. Apart from that, the presenting team sucked.
