Netgear DG834GT Use ?

Been trying to extend my wifi network, found a old Netgear DG834GT that I used to use on ADSL, before having Virgin Cable,
Can anyone tell me if I can use the DG834GT as a repeater or access point?
Or if it cannot manage that, would I be able to connect it to the Ethernet port of my Edimax EW-7416APn repeater, to use it as a wired hub ?
New to networking,
Thanks
