Think my router is kanackered

When downloading i get speeds of up to 1.1Mbs and then it ranges from 5 seconds too 10 minutes and then the the download speed just drops and the net stops working so have to reset modem and router and then it works again. Ime not sure if my router supports 10Mbs.

Ano later it will go to about 9.8Mbs which is good. But ime not bothered about the speed just don't wont my net to keep cutting out its really annoying. If i connect the modem straight to the PC i can download perfectly so i am thinking its the router.

Re: Think my router is kanackered

i used to have that router.. when wireless i only got about 8 mb if you hard wire it you will get virgins 10 to 20 as i did. i had the 20 but only when wired.. not wireless as 8mb is all that router is gonna get u wirelessly..

If you want more try moving onto the 'N' standard routers.. they give you more...

Remember wired gives you more mbps than wireless..

Remember not to be stuck behind your routers NAT settings either as that slows you down too..

Set your IP outside the routers settings by going into the dmz settings and setting your ip to be exempt..

To get the ip you want just click start, run then type ipconfig

The ipv4 address (ip) is the one you want your router to run free.. ie put it in dmz and enable...
