Re: 20 foot to phone socket

For that kind of distance I'd go for wireless. Either that or get an extension put in - either by yourself or a leccy.

One For All SV1500 - "Wireless" phoneline extension kit

No phone point near your Digibox or computer?

The transmitter plugs into the nearest 13 Amp socket and transmits the signal through your 230v mains wiring to the extension unit! Typical speed 38 - 42bps with a "56k" modem. Works with normal voice phone, too. (Will not extend ADSL broadband) MORE INFOOne For All SV1500 - "Wireless" phoneline extension kit

Best is a cabled extention - any joins cut the plugs and hardwire if you can - if not push firmly together and either a) cover it in rubber hardener or b) elecy tape round it make sure it dont move.
