Network Security

Hi,

I recently went to an event in London where they had one of the best pieces of security i have seen. Basically what it did was when a laptop/pc connected to the network either wired/wireless, you would accept an agreement and download a file which in turn would scan your computer for any nasty's. I cannot find for the life of me any software that can do it. Does anyone know of any?

Thanks

Kenny

Re: Network Security

There's lots of online malware scanners

Here's a list of them >> http://www.myantispyware.com/online-scanners/

Re: Network Security

It sounds like NAC (network access control).

Basically there are a number of ways of doing it and we are looking to use a Sophos product to allow us to but say for example when you connect on a WiFi connection you will only be connected to the NAC server, you machine will then be checked to see if it meets a certain criteria, if it doesn't you can then point it to a place so you can get the updates, weather it be a web link to the files or to the internet, it then re scans and checks and then you can allow certain access i.e. maybe access to a certain web portal, the full network or just parts. Used in places such as Universities where any devices can be brought in and used as long as it meets the criteria.

Here is a Wiki link to it.
