VOIP is blocked on most mobile networks (I think that O2 and 3 allow it as well as some plans on those that do block it) as VM use t-mobile and orange networks Skype and other voips are blocked.. No idea if they do a data plan where it is allowed?

Vodafone have an addon which allows VOIP on their business plans so you would probably need to go on a business plan with your provider.

It's not an issue of network, there are no network-wide blocks. Orange, T-Mobile and Vodafone all allow it if you're on the right package. VM - I don't know if they have a "right package".

Three let you use Skype calls and if you have a data quota with them, Skype calls do not count towards it at all.

re: Virgin Samsung Galaxy Ace

That's because Skype calls on 3 do not use data. There's nothing to count.

re: Virgin Samsung Galaxy Ace

have been looking over the main forum, and some people seem to be able to use it no problem, one of VM staff tried it on 2 different phones, one was a HTC wildfire or something, cant remember what the other was, but only one of them would work with skype, kinda strange.

I oovoo works, its not skype, but i guess it will have to do for now :S
