Only able to connect to router
If I set my link speed to 10Mbps full duplex.
Asus P5B motherboard with onboard Realtek RTL8168/8111 gigabit Ethernet
Belkin P5D7231-4P wireless Router.
3PC's all RJ45 connected, 2 set to 100Mbps full duplex but my new rig only connects at 10Mbps full duplex, while this isn’t a problem for internet traffic it makes it excruciatingly slow when moving files between my PC and the other 2, while the other 2 machines share a reasonably fast transfer rate. All my drivers for the board are up to date.
Anybody have any ideas or are there known issues between this boards Ethernet and the Belkin Router?
Do you have the current drivers for the motherboard and it's ethernet? In particular are your dirvers generic M$ ones, or the manufacturer's ones? When you loaded up your PC, did you install the motherboard chipset first and then the ethernet stuff. Windoze can be fussy like that.

I have all the current drivers for the board and they were installed after the motherboard chipset drivers.
I wouldnt use generic drivers as usually they can be a PITA

re-installed drivers, set connection to 1000Mbps full duplex, allowed M$ network diagnostic utility to run (think it comes with IE7) after 2 or 3 attempts it managed to connect to router and I now have full speed across my network.
