Bell / Ring Wire / BRAS Profile

Hi,

I’ve been reading information online regarding the bell / ring wire and how sometimes it can improve ADSL speeds.

As an experiment, I have now re-wired our phone socket – removing the bell / ring wire and I seem to have gained some speed increase.

Is there a quick way to get the BRAS profile reset or am I at the mercy of my ISP to do this?

(I have mailed their tech support)

Cheers

Lee

AFAIK its BT that has to reset your IP/BRAS profile, you'll have to go through your ISP.

Re: Bell / Ring Wire / BRAS Profile

Your ISP can put a request through to BT for a profile reset but that usually takes just as long as the DLM (Dynamic Line Management). It can take up to 5 days to see a profile change but the bigger the change in sync speed the quicker the profile will be changed. Keep your router connected and try not to resync. If your connection resync's 10 or more time in an hour then you profile will drop rapidly.
