Just came back from Timpsons, they told me the same if they change the battery it will break the waterproof seal.

H Samuel either do it, or more likely send it away to be done.
Although this watch was bought in H Samuel in the past few years what limited dealings I've had with Jewellers I've dealt with F Hinds and been very happy with them.
