It’s the government’s job to sort that out, not the broadcasters. In the meantime, the broadcasters have to get workarounds.

Having said that, those people who want to watch premium sport have probably already overcome that problem.
The point is that you appeared to be stating that people with older TVs would need a SCART socket for a Fire Stick, which had a HDMI connector, and that some "older" TVs wouldn’t have SCART sockets.

And considering SCART sockets first appeared on U.K. TV in the late 70s, even that assertion appears misaligned with actuality…
