Covid Installs

Are installs still going ahead during these covid times?

A friend recently spoke to Sky and upgraded from the basic one room Sky to two rooms and was told she would be upgraded from the original basic box to a Sky Q and also the the extra box in the other room and that an engineer would bring the equipment with him.

They got a phone call the morning it was due from the engineer to say he was on their road but couldn't install it because of covid rules. They didn't see him on the road and called up to ask what was going on and was told they had re-booked for a months time.

Something doesn't sound right so figured I would ask here if anyone knows what the score is.

Is an engineer needed to do an upgrade with the new sky box? I figured it was just a case of unplugging the satellite/power/hdmi and putting the new box in its place. Then plug the second box in the other room and maybe connect.
