It isn't a splitter, it's a switch. The text on the pictures back that up.
You can direct either of 2 outputs to a single display, or you can choose which of 2 displays receives from a single output.


If all of your display/TV HDMI sockets are full, then it's a switch that you need. You select which input/source is directed to the display/TV HDMI port.


The device might work as it appears to be a manual wired switch rather than an electronic one.
