Nobody disputes that certain events merit locations of a certain stature. I’m sure the Foreign Office in particular have a list of places where Ambassadors and Ministers regularly hobnob away.
Whether the UK benefits from additional trade or otherwise is irrelevant unless it can be clearly demonstrated that
only an establishment owned by a Conservative party donor would achieve that result at lowest cost to the taxpayer. It clearly cannot. Which makes it grubby.
