There are many things we pour down the drain that can cause mayhem in household pipes, septic systems or municipal severs.

What do You do or dont pour down the kitchen drain?

Mostly only liquids but off that list I do pour milk and pasta water.

I never pour any fats/oil or solid fooods. They go straight in the bin.

We reuse a plastic "soup" container for fat/oils (after cooled a bit but they can take a fair bit of heat). Once it's full we put it in the bin.

Article is aimed more at US with rubbish disposal units in sinks more common.

Milk, don't waste much, normally runs out before expires.
Pasta water - doesn't everyone use some in the sauce?
Meat trimmings - in bin unless it's more substantial, then make stock or freeze until have enough for stock/mince etc.
Egg shells - bin, compost isn't good enough to break them down
Coffee grounds - compost
Potato peelings - compost
Seeds etc - compost
Bones, stickers etc - bin
Veg - compost

Ya I can understand why they say NO FATS.... They can get hard when they cool which could mock things up!!

Pasta water, where do you pour it then?

Same with milk?

Trouble is, when you wash after a meal, there will always be some food debris that ends up down the plughole.

The article does explain that.

Actually I'm disappointed. I expected an article about pythons and prosthetic limbs.
