McColls store chain on the verge of administration

McColl's convenience store chain is apparently on the brink of collapse ;

The retailer said it was "increasingly likely" it would fall into administration unless talks around a rescue deal were successful.
We have one of these locally, I hope they survive.

Talk that Asda's owners may buy it.

Sky News understands that the Issa brothers could agree a deal later on Friday to buy the stricken retail chain but there are other interested parties, including Morrisons, waiting in the wings.

It was also on the news last night that Morrisons have some connection to these stores and that they may take over some or all of them. I think it said that 16,000 jobs are at risk.

Apparently, it's problems caused by supply issues that's caused this. If they haven't got the goods to sell, they can't make a profit on them!

Morrisons wins control. All 1,100 stores and 16,000 workers to be retained and pension obligations to be honoured.

Some are small so you probably wouldn't pay much attention to the brand, just see them as a local shop. The larger ones are branded Morrisons so you would just know them as Morrisons.
