how do I connect smart tv for freeview

Hi

New to posting threads so apologise if this is silly question.

Have had a new aerial fitted to my house to allow us to buy and watch tv on freeview through a smart tv.

The man who installed the aerial has fallen out with the builder and hasn't completed the job and now we think we could finish it ourselves and save some pennies...

We have a cable sticking out of the wall, obviously running from the aerial.

I presume we buy a front plate and then another cable to plug into the tv (going to buy a smart tv with freeview in it)
Questions I have....
What type of plate do I need to buy?
Is it hard to connect?
Will I then be able to watch freeview or are there other items I will need?

Cheers for your help.

From doing mine years ago you just need a TV point surface plate. There's a handy guide here
http://www.aerialsandtv.com/wiringup.html#ScreenedPlate

Then you just need some decent co-axial cable to run from that to your TV, ensuring you buy the correct plugs.

Don't buy the cheap thin cables you can get in supermarkets with moulded plugs, go to an electricial shop, you can get the surface plate from here as well, and buy some quality screened cable.
I bought about 7m of cable and 2 plugs for less than £10.

That link i posted will also show you how to wire the plugs.

Once it's plugged into the TV you just need to scan for the channels.

Good luck!
