Freebie for PAYG?

My son has a SIM-only PAYG phone.

He topped up with £10 today and got a text saying he has "3000 minutes, unlimited texts and 2Gb data".

What network is that with?

Virgin.

He normally just puts in £10 and gets £10 worth of calls or texts. Now this appears?

I'm worried for my own situation where £10 topups last many, many months as I make so few calls.

If this is the way they are going will that mean that a topup will only be valid for a month now?

Re: Freebie for PAYG?

The rewards (data and texts) will only last for the month where as the £10 will stay as credit after the month has elapsed

Thanks Kymmy. Is there a link to a page with that info please?

Interesting... that doesn't tie up with big talk or big data and texts

Thanks for that Kymmy, but it's still unclear to me if the £10 credit vanishes after the following months freebies. :dunce:

Nope, £10 is credit, it only specifies that the rewards are time limited

£10 to use outside of your rewards
Reward texts and data are applied from the 1st of the calendar month following your top up, and last all month.

My wife's been getting similar for years with a £10 top up, minus the data which is worth £10 on its own. In fact, she topped up at the end of Nov. in order to get her freebies for December. It could just be a short term promotion I suppose but with 2gb free it seems very generous.
