Noticed that l can buy a phone far cheaper from Argos with even more gifts of manufacturers own web site . If l pay outright and take a SIM only deal can lbget a better deal ? Or would it be a waste of time

Loads of good deals out there if you own a sim free phone. I would not necessarily look at Argos though. What phone are you looking at? I currently am a big fan of Xiaomi devices. Look at the Poco X3 NFC the Poco X3 Pro and the Redmi Note 10 Pro. Very high spec for the price ( beats budgets Samsungs and so on)

I got a deal off VM for a totally free sim for 18 months (unlimited minutes text and 5GB data) but pretty much all providers will offer you a deal if you tell them you are going sim free and intend to switch if they do not

Smarty have good offers if you have good signal from 3 in your area
Guffgaff are also good if you cannot get a good deal from your provider and you can always take your number anywhere

Oppo 5g looks good and has great reviews for the price. Was going avoid Vodafone as mine is very poor signal wise. However g.daughter has it and stood side by side hers 5 bars mine no signal!

A54 or a74 but what that got to do with a higher cost on virgin and if they are flexible on cash up front and a sim only deal I am not sure ?:dunce:

I do not understand this

The reason I asked about which phone was because I was going see if there were any better deals or devices in the price range as I keep up with this kind of tech. As for deals I told you companies give deals on sim only and gave you 2 options that specialise in sim only packages ie Smarty and GiffGaff ( put it right this time hehe)

A54 is a bit expensive for what you get in it tbh the A74 is a much better spec with the extra ram and rom.

Do you have 5G in your area? I opted for a better none 5G phone due to it not being around me yet and buy the time they build a network I will be looking for another phone anyway.

If I may I would like to throw the Mi 10T Lite 5G into the mix as a phone option. Little bit more expensive than the A74 but it has a 120 hz screen over the A74s 90hz it also has a better camera and a better chipset in the Snapdragon 750G over the A74s 480

Have no intention of changing a new phone anytime soon ;) so would go for 5g regardless. Not worried about internet as being retired l can just use at home ! Looking for good coverage at best price :shocked: my old phone is just that old! Like the 2 year warranty on oppo.. always looking of value for money but that doesn't mean cheap.:D just looked at Tec radar weak battery poor fingerprint scanner . And more money guess l will pass but thanks anyway

Would go with 5G regardless and not worried about internet do not go together cuz you are bothered as you said you would go with 5G regardless

Anyway end of the day Yes you can get a better deal if you buy a phone

The A74 scores less than the Mi 10 T lite on Tech Radar which also says the A74 battery has problems

So the answer seems to be no. Phone cheaper from oppo ( with freebes) Virgin. SIM card better value via price comparison site .
