Nimbus (from Steam). A small cheap game, but finding it very playable, addictive and frustrating. 9/10 from me

Loads up instantly as well which is a plus for a quick play. I seem to enjoy these indie type of games more than the major titles these days.

Hearing some cracking things about AC: Brotherhood. I've not played the first 2 might keep an eye on Amazon's black Friday offers all next week see if I can get the games I'd like cheap ;)

NFS Hot Pursuit (360)

Very repetitive, poor car handling (they all handle the same!). Promised so much with Criterion being the developer but delivers very little. On the whole very disappointing :(

Most of the reviews seem to have been very *cough* kind to say the least.

Got AC:Brotherhood to play next when I have some time.

So i went wild and bought The Orange Box and Half Life 1(Steam) £16.99 for Half Life 2 - Chapter 1 and 2, Portal, Team Fortress 2, never played the games before but after watching some gameplay and hearing the reviews, how could i not play?.

Anyone played them? stupid question i bet lol.

I gotta be honest, I never rated Half Life. I know it got great reviews and seemed to be loved by everybody, I just didn't...get it.

That's because it's legacy is more relevant than the game is at this point in time. When Half Life was released 12 years ago it revolutionsed practically everything connected with the FPS genre. Not only the game itself but the whole framework it was based upon which allowed the community to develop mods such as TFC and Counterstrike.

Half Life itself, the main title started to kill itself the moment the sequel was released. The story became more convoluted and less immersive. The game offered little new in terms of gameplay. I found HL2 a bit of a drag to be honest and I couldn't bear trudging through episode 1 to completion. Half Life is not the star of the Orange Box anyway, that accolade goes to the excellelent Portal and to a lesser extent TF2.
