Christmas TV Schedule

Not gonna link here as not sure if allowed but Radio Times are doing their 12 issues for £1 and there is time to include the Christmas Edition. It is on HUKD easy to find

Also I guess this thread can be used later to discuss what is going to be on over the festive season

Must admit from what I have seen in the mags there is not much.

Normal stuff like Mrs Browns Boys Call the Midwife Doctor Who (New Year) and so on

I am looking forward to the Around The World in 80 Days movie with David Tennant though and Sky have Last Train to Christmas in that link that might be funny

Just Christmas versions of the usual drivel that's on the rest of the year.

The BBC ruined Christmas when they removed Dr Who from the schedule ….

I think Christmas TV was ruined when we lost the types of Morecombe and Wise, The Two Ronnies and even Val Dunican

There is nothing stopping someone trying to make specials like they used to but I guess with 200 channels to fill having decent specials on 1 and 3 is not important anymore

I certainly don’t miss Val Doonican and his pullovers!

Just something about the memory from my childhood I guess

Re: Christmas TV Schedule

Looks terrible TBH.

We'll probably have Top of the Pops on in the background.
Probably then switch to the countdown of favourite ABBA songs on C5 (in the background again).
Other than that, I'll be watching the shows I've built up over the last few weeks.

Around the world in 80 days (new) looks interesting, on Boxing Day.

It’ll only get worse. The content on the TV channels has been dire this year and Christmas isn’t much better.

Hundreds of channels and nothing on.

I'd estimate that 95% of TV channels are simply a means of blasting you with adverts (whether you watch them or skip them). The 'filler' between the adverts doesn't really amount to much in many cases, to be fair you may as well watch the shopping channels instead :D

If you took all the 'good' content and condensed it onto about 15 channels, you'd get decent quality viewing . . . but that won't happen because it's the adverts that drive the TV market :p:
