Wonder if we'll finally see 100Meg up on 1Gig :) (slight sarcasm)

Slightly increasing speeds (making diddly squat practical difference to most), to be followed by massively increasing price no doubt ! I know VM and their ways ;)

Re: Virgin Boosting Speeds

Ah yes there'll be a price increase as well I bet :)

Re: Virgin Boosting Speeds

For the extra 25Mbps/50Mbps increase I would say it's pretty pointless.

Re: Virgin Boosting Speeds

5 meg upload extra on the 200 would definitely benefit me

Re: Virgin Boosting Speeds

I'd be very surprised / happy if we went 10:1 on 1Gig, although i can't see it.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if only 100/200 get the boost, adding 5Meg to 1gig is a bit disappointing!

Re: Virgin Boosting Speeds

Just reset my Hub and the speed increase has been implemented.
M100 now provisioned at 143.7mb downstream and 22mb upstream - so upload speed has been doubled.

Apparently all those under 100 meg are being upgraded too. Wonder if this includes the social tariff

dunno if this is posted elsewhere

I know this may sound like an odd question seeing that I've done 1000s of broadband installs over the years but age is starting to affect me now...

When turning off your separate modem and routers what order should they be turned off in? Modem, or router first for example and then when turning back on the same question.

Thanks all.

Re: Virgin Boosting Speeds

Turning off I do not think matters. I have always turned the modem on first so it assigns its IP then the router after.

The order of turning them off makes no difference, however turning them on is:

1: Modem and let it fully initiate and then
2. router.

Yep, its irrelevant what order you turn them off, but ideally you would turn on your modem first, let it connect, then boot up your router.

Re: Virgin Boosting Speeds

Reboot your modem guys, after a reboot I have the speed increase.

Config showing:
Downstream
287500061 bps

Upstream
27500061 bps

Speedtest Results for 200mbit tier.
Downstream 283Mbps
Upstream 27Mbps
