It's a sorry state of affairs all round if a club files for administration, but in the past, clubs have used that loophole in prior seasons to prevent a 10 point deduction, if they survive, in the following season.

Leeds I am sure will survive, albeit in a lower position than they have been for quite a few years.

With Bates at the forefront and dealing with their affairs, I am confident they will survive, not that I am hoping of course ;)

The report states that the new rule will start from next season, so Leeds and Boston will be safe.

Boston won't be, I heard on the radio they'd been relegated from the conference, with Altrincham being reinstated

Boston were in Division 2 last season.

Altrincham have been relegated to the Conference North. Table

So maybe I am not losing it as first thought :D

Hmm it's possible you still are, if the radio report was right Boston have been relegated from the conference as well, with Altrincham being reinstated in their place

Shame that it is not retrospective...it would have been funny to see Leeds start off the season at -10 points :D

The rule change was passed unanimously by the 72 chairmen of the Football League at their annual general meeting in Portugal.
Why on earth did they need to fly out to Portugal to hold a Football League meeting.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but a relegated team has less chance of making money right?
So less chance of surviving administration yeah?

When you are in the lower leagues, prize money and tv money are much, much less, as are the overheads like player wages, it really is a different world and hopefully Boston will come out the other end ok.

Leeds are a slightly different story, they have debts from when they were a Champions league club and are still, in some cases paying Premiership wages to those that are still at the club and even to some players that have left, you'd think administration would hit them hard but the fact is there is absoultely no chance of them being wound up, even though they didn't have the assets in terms of players or property to cover the debts, it would be a courageous businessman that pull's the plug on a club with hundreds of thousands of fans nationwide, imo the people who deserve sympathy are the coach company's that take them to games, the catering companies and any other company that was owed money and will now struggle due to being given 1p in the £1, I wonder how many of them will go under?

Yes.......that does seem a bit excessive and unnecessary.
