Birkenhead’s finest …. His voice on my radio always gave me a sense of connection to my roots. Though his Radio 2 show ended a while ago I always assumed he’d pop up again somewhere. Alas it’s not to be. RIP Paul. :(

RIP Mr O'Grady..... He was due to start a new radio job next month.

An entertainer and also great campaigner for people and animals.

Indeed he was. I met him before he was famous and he didn't change a bit once he'd made it in mainstream society.

He was part of a few drag acts before deciding to try on his own. An acquaintance suggested his mother's maiden name, Savage. He said I like that, but it sounds too abrasive, so chose Lily to soften it and Lily Savage was born

RIP Paul.

It's been reported that he was due to start working for Boom Radio in three weeks.

Not seen him for donkeys years, but i"ll be saying a prayer fir him before I go to sleep.

I never listened to his Radio 2 show, but you might like to know thst three of Paul's Radio 2 shows have been uploaded to BBC Sounds today:

It's all so terribly sad, 67 is no age to leave this Earth.
