A well deserved win all the same.

Match by match and don't think too far ahead as anything can happen in this tournament.

Run up to the game, social media frenzy about how brilliant the England team is and Southgate should be knighted.

Denmark win 3-1

Social media goes into meltdown, driven by posts about how crap England are and Southgate should be sacked. Video of Lineker crying into crisp packet goes viral.

Of course it was not that long ago when some were calling for Gareth Southgate to be sacked.;)

Well done to the squad and management, definite improvement.

Probably only another 30 years now until we actually win one :D

England have a 100% success rate in major finals. ;)

Iffy penalty decision and awful penalty from Kane but England the better side over 120 minutes and deserved to win

With a lot of luck, an own goal and a good penalty area dive !

Liked Gary Nevilles comment afterwards , about Southgate being a great leader, the kind we haven't had in this country lately :D

Thread title changed as this became more of Euro 2020 discussion than new football season thread. Please start another season discussion nearer the time.

Yes, he does talk utter bollocks sometimes, thankfully voters choose who they want leading the nation, not some boring football pundit telling the country who they should be voting for.

Briliant news for England and it lifts peoples moods no end.

I think the final is going to be tough and if we can defend well then it will end in penalties.

It also seems Sweet Caroline is becoming a fan favourite, and the lyrics seem to match what we are able to do.

I should add that on the 16th July 1966 my mum and dad married, and they spent their honeymoon on Guernsey, and they saw the final with the couple who ran it (21 years later they took me and my sister to the same guest house which was still run by the same couple).

Hopefully my mum is smiling down on the England team very near what would have been their 55th wedding anniversary,

Sweet Caroline has been sung for a few years now by Lancashire Cricket fans in particular, often led by Bumble (David Lloyd). ;)
