Still some technical problems this morning. They introduced a doctor who was against not lifting the restrictions but there must have been a miscommunication because the Doctor then argued for being cautious.

Right now they're doing a remote but their guest isn't coming through on the Mic. He is very quiet, I think what is coming though from him is from the host's mic.

The technical problems will be fixed in time. Not a huge statement on the future of the channel, it'll be if they can find an audience for an opinion led TV channel.

The other thing they need to fix is the lighting and camera set-up. I watched a bit of their morning show which has four main presenters but they've chosen to frame the entire desk in shot throughout the show, rather than cutting to close-ups of the current speaker, so they look oddly distant from the camera. The lighting is very dark as well.

Whatever you think of BBC News it's technically well produced. The kind of thing you don't notice until it's not there anymore. Watch 30 mins of Sky or BBC then another of GB News and you'll notice it. The former channels are much better lit, much better shot, guests are ready on time with working mics and they then successfully transition between segments.

Nothing but then neither does Sky and they're really well produced. Besides I am only commenting on the quality of what is produced rather than it's value for money.

yes but sky and the bbc have huge funding and years of experience, i imagine gb news going forward will iron out the glitches.

All very fluffy and no sharp points. Day 1: Nothing compelling yet.

GB News reports BBC to Ofcom for ‘plot to sabotage opening broadcast’ LIVE on TV

GB News, chaired by veteran broadcaster Andrew Neil, has alerted the media regulator Ofcom, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) and the Government following a reported row over access to shared broadcast footage. The channel went live at 8pm on Sunday evening and bosses accused its competitors of blocking access to “pools” footage – videos of public events produced by the UK’s three largest broadcasters

In a strongly worded letter to authorities, GB News lawyers claim the alleged move by rivals could amount to “an abuse of their collective dominant position”.

It added: “If it is the case that UK pool members are conspiring to disrupt our clients’ entry to the UK news broadcasting market [this would be] wholly contrary to… fair and effective competition.”

The broadcast pooling system is run by the BBC, ITN and Sky.

There was a similar headline in the Torygraph. Interesting they both single out the BBC in the headline and not Sky/ITN.
