BBC News has become less and less a purveyor of information about what is happening, but a torrent of "articles" on subjects that don't affect the majority. Recently it has been flooded with stories about women, black women, foreign women, LGTVHD4k "women" and then more of the same. And then when it does flip into "news mode" it is full of people with crystal balls saying what is "likely, expected or possible" in the future.

The way they report covid-19 daily stats is stuck to a set format, but at least it is relevant news.

They're working with a smaller budget that Sky and ITV apparently and even then the majority of it has gone on some of their 'big name' presenters so the crew can be forgiven for some missteps early on.

That’s not what I meant. Most people want to hear about what is going on in different parts of the world rather than constant ‘personal stories’ of one disgruntled group or another.

A more balanced reporting of Brexit and other issues is required. All we seem to hear on the Beeb is remainer arguments. We want to hear both sides, please.

The audio issues are weird since that's the kind of thing you think they can correct on rehearsal. The current guy has a weird echo effect where it sounds like amateur production that doesn't have proper mics and a soundproof room.

The internet feed is understandable since it's very hard to test to heavy load.

The channel has now started. What do people think of it so far?

Most of the comments that i've seen thus far relate to the technical problems, the dark studio & Andrew Neil's funeral suit!

Also complaints about the lack of subtitles & them laughing about a plane crash.

There have comparisons to the standard of the news on the Local TV channels.
