do you think if you repeat a mantra enough, it'll be believable? I was not in love with Justin, I was not in love with Justin, I was not in love with Justin... :erm:

Depends how many times you repeat it ;)

Callas - Voice of the Century. She's just rattling through a bit of Manon at the moment. I can't understand it, but it sounds like he's left her and she's about to hit the gin and Valium, such is the way in opera.

[edit] I tell a lie. The track listing is all wrong - Windows Media Player  It's from Le Cid "Pleurez mes yeux" and apparently, "Chimène is in love with Rodrigue. However, Rodrigue killed her father in a duel because her father insulted Rodrigue's father. Torn between the loves she has for both of them, she realizes that there is no outcome which will not be touched by sorrow and heartache" Hmmm.

Is that "grrrr" as in "over the back of the sofa, darlin" or "grrr" as in "can't stand the warbling cow"? I like her voice - her Vissi d'arte sends shivers down my spine.

The Hot Puppies - Under the Crooked Moon

If over the back of the sofa makes her warbling racket sound more appealing, then yes.

Can't really beat a really good boy singer but they don't come along very often - at the moment, Carolyn Sampson's my favourite soprano, her Handel duets with Robin Blaze (who is totally awesome) is desert island, off the scale. :)

This disc, in fact. It's on the player right now. Shame amazon have no samples.

Yeah, the female voice like Susan Gritton, Emma Kirkby, Carolyn Sampson... don't like mezzos really though.
