+1 but Webber has the same car, and with the same setup he's 1-2 10ths off Vettel. It would be nice to see Vettel along side Alonso, Hamilton, Schumy et-al.

I've never rated Webber as a top driver either, but he has still won races in a Red Bull.

Rear tyre came of rim, and he rushed to get it back to the pits and damaged the rear of the car.

McLaren's Lewis Hamilton returned to form to win the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix as Sebastian Vettel retired.

"He just turned it on here and looked like the old Lewis again," said BBC F1 commentator Martin Brundle.
Lets hope this is a prelude to next season.

Pity we don't have access to the telemetry to see if the tyre lost pressure before the loss of control or it lost pressure as it went from track to kerb to run-off to grass... The resulting damage was to the hub and wishbone probably caused by the unbalanced flailing of the tyre carcass.

Either way though it was a good race which proved that the DSR zones are promoting overtaking (can't remember the exact figures from the same track from last year but I think completed over taking events was in single figures)

Formula 1 drivers want a rethink on the use of the controversial DRS overtaking aid for next season.

Quote:

Red Bull driver Mark Webber said: "There have been a few incidents where people have gone off because they were pushing the boundaries of using DRS.

Quote:

Webber, writing in his BBC Sport column, said there had been at least three incidents this year caused by this issue.

Quote:

He added that the drivers would like the regulations to be changed so the system can be used in practice and qualifying "just in the DRS zone and perhaps a couple of the key straights, and with a restriction on the point at which you can deploy it so you're not too close to the exit of a corner".

The comentators said that red bull and other teams run the tyres under the recommended pressures that are recommended, so this bit RB on the bum.

....and at the start the tyre temps and hence pressures are at their lowest..

They have been upsetting Pirelli for a long time by not following their recommendations. Remember when they had problems with tyre wear because they used too much camber.

Maybe the FIA should insist that teams stay within the guidelines in the interest of safety.

Goodbye F1 on the BBC, why should I watch only half the races?
Nobody would ever watch halp a football match.

I'm in two mind about F1, watch it or not. At the moment do something else is winning, as RB winning got very boring, plus some crap marshall desicions.

Yet not all the football matches are available on Sky.. Anyway that's a whole other thread of discussion ;)

Well it's the end of the season so as usual any discussion for next year (apart from the reduced BBC coverage which has it's own thead) should go in the 2012 pre-season thread

In the mean time well done to all the teams, drivers and organisers for giving us an exciting year even though the RB7 with vettel hanging on inside ran away with it.
